Approximately 55 players strong in 2017, the Concert Band is the reigning National American Legion Band Concert Band Champion. The band rehearses weekly March through November and performs in many different Kansas City area events and venues as well as traveling to the National American Legion Convention every August. The performance schedule is heavily weighted toward veterans’ and memorial events throughout the year as well as fun family events such as farmer’s market performances, July 4th at Corporate Woods and the annual Confederate Air Force Heart of America Air Show. The band performs twice each year at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, MO, for an indoor formal concert, on Flag Day and Veteran’s Day.
