The American Legion Band is proud to have been the first participant to perform in the beautiful new Nichols Auditorium at the Liberty Memorial. The occasion was a ceremony to honor 58 Korean War Veterans in a State of Missouri Medal Ceremony.

Guest Speakers included:

  • Brigadier General Stephen Berkheiser, USMC (Retired)

  • Missouri State Representative Paul LaVota

  • Brigadier General Wayne Pierson, Assistant Division Commander of the 35th Infantry Division.

We were especially honored to be present for one of our own bandsmen, Bernie Raye, percussion, as he received his medal and certificate as one of the honored Korean War Veterans.

The band performed several marches as well as the Star Spangled Banner and other patriotic selections. Some of the selections are linked below in Windows Media Player format, although they are large files that are best suited to high-speed internet access.
